Children’s Circle of Care

In 1995, 19 Woodmark-member children’s hospitals jointly launched the Children’s Circle of Care (CCC) program to support each other’s efforts to create a culture of major-gift philanthropy for their hospital. The CCC program encourages donors – specifically individuals, couples and members of family foundations – to invest in the mission of their children’s hospital by contributing $10,000 or more annually to the hospital. In turn, the hospital’s fundraising team engages with these donors to educate them more deeply about the hospital’s mission through special events and activities and recognizes them as leading benefactors of the hospital. Many CCC members over the years have gone on to make principal and transformational gifts in support of their children’s hospital, which demonstrates their longstanding devotion and role in leading the creation of their hospital’s major-gifts culture.

Since 1995, CCC members have collectively contributed more then $12.8 billion to Woodmark-member hospitals. This is support that is immediately available to advance pediatric clinical care, research, teaching and advocacy efforts. Nearly 8,000 CCC members contributed to Woodmark member hospitals in 2023. For many of Woodmark’s member-hospitals, CCC-level giving also has come to represent a standard of leadership giving for hospital executives and trustees.
